Dodgers vs Giants - Game 2 of 4 - 9/13/13

whatever Giants fans...

The only thing I'm upset about regarding this game is the fact that Kershaw took the loss. Otherwise, the game was the Dodgers' to lose. Giants still aren't going to the playoffs and as Hunter Pence said last night in his post-game interview, they know they won't, since they are just trying to "finish strong."

I will say that I am a bit disappointed that the decision was made to pinch hit Crawford for Van Slyke in the 9th. I think that was a bad idea. I also think that Yasiel Puig needs to regain some control at the plate. However, Nick Punto and Andre Ethier showed their hustle on the bases last night, even though Ethier aggravated his left ankle running out a double in the 8th.

The Dodgers would have completely dominated this game, had they been 100%. Hanley Ramirez is out currently with a back issue, Ethier hobbling on a bad ankle, the ever-absent Matt Kemp is out and 2 we didn't expect to see last night, Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford, both with persisting physical issues. Oh well. Nothing can really stop the Dodgers' playoff push at this stage of the game. It's just nice to see the Giants get beat.

Today brings Ricky Nolasco to the mound to face the Giants' Tim Lincecum. I don't believe that the Giants really know what to do with Lincecum. It's been basically proven that he's not a starter, even though Giants fans will tell you, repeatedly, different. He's a relief pitcher. That is all. He would be a great relief pitcher honestly, but they don't seem to see him that way. Oh well.

Mismanagement and an aging staff has led the Giants to overplay this "momentum" from the last few seasons. Again I say...Oh well.
