Los Angeles Dodgers Make History in Colorado

The Los Angeles Dodgers turned in a sloppy win but had two milestones during their game at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies today.

Clayton Kershaw took the mound today and got the win for the Dodgers but came up with a more awesome stat. In the 3rd inning, Kershaw struck out Wilin Rosario to achieve 200 strikeouts this season. Not only is that an incredible feat but also that he's done it for the last 4 seasons. Sandy Koufax, Don Sutton and Don Drysdale are the only other Dodger pitchers that have gone at least 4 consecutive seasons with over 200 strikeouts per season.

Andre Ethier also made Dodger history today at Coors Field. Ethier is the first Dodger ever with seven or more seasons of 30 or more doubles. He is also the first Dodger with seven consecutive seasons or 30 or more doubles. Andre Ethier's 241 doubles are the most ever for any Dodger in a seven-year span. He also has a career 1,141 hits which puts him in 9th place in Dodger history, right behind Davey Lopes at 1,204.

Newly signed, former Padres pitcher, Edinson Volquez will make his Dodger debut on Wednesday in the final game with the Rockies.
