Zack Grienke Dominates the Padres in Tuneup Game

The Dodgers were able to shutout the San Diego Padres with their starting pitcher, Zack Greinke. He lowered his ERA to 2.67, retiring 9 batters and allowing only 2 hits.

With a playoff berth already clinched, this has been a perfect opportunity to sharpen our pitching in preparation for October. Greinke showed he's a fighter and has what it takes to dominate in the playoffs.

The Dodgers will be in San Francisco for a 3 game series starting tomorrow. Oh how I wish the clincher could have been completed there! I am happy though that it was completed early enough to give our Boys in Blue some breathing room and some time to get everyone healthy and ready for October.

Meanwhile in Oakland, the A's clinched their spot in the playoffs with their win versus the Minnesota Twins. I will have to say, these boys deserve this. They, not unlike the Dodgers, have dealt with a lot of setbacks and tough losses and have a right to be the champs in the AL West.
