Ports vs. Blaze tonight

Pitcher Josh Bowman and the Ports take on pitcher Jake Johnson and the Bakersfield Blaze tonight. Has anyone got to meet Mr. Bowman? Nice guy. He's even willing to come over to you and just talk. On the other hand, there's the manager of the Bakersfield Blaze. A one, Ken Griffey, Sr. Some of you may of heard of him and his Seattle Saint son, Ken Griffey, Jr.

I'm not calling out Mr. Griffey as a bad guy. Odd thing about certain older ballplayers is that they don't like to be bothered. He's probably signed a million things for fans over his career. OK, I get it. Like I said in my previous post about the pressures and daily annoyances they go through and what it must be like to be hounded all the time, I understand there are times where you want to be left alone. I don't have a problem with leaving you alone. But you, the ballplayer, have to understand that the kids and a lot of adults don't always get that and you WILL be hounded for autographs, pictures and simply handshakes. Don't forget that, even though you may be sick of it all or having bad days, don't forget that these fans are people and these people love you. Even if they love you for no other reason but that you are a baseball player and you signed a ball or posed for a picture, they still love you. You just created a moment in time and a memory for them.
