The Ports get hot in the 7th at Lake Elsinore

Down by 3 runs going into the 7th inning, the Stockton Ports surged ahead starting with a single from B.A. Vollmuth and then a double by Antonio Lamas to put runners at 2nd and 3rd. Next, catcher Bruce Maxwell hit a 2-run double to tighten the gap to 4-3. This exchange ended the Storm's starting pitcher, Bryce Morrow's time on the mound.

After Dusty Robinson's strikeout for the 2nd out, Phil Pohl stepped in to hit an RBI double to bring Maxwell in, to tie up the game, 4-4. Myrio Richard then hit an RBI single to bring Pohl in for the go-ahead run with the final score, 5-4.

Relief pitcher Omar Duran and closer Pedro Viola combined to send back to the dugout 13 of 15 of the last batters from Lake Elsinore, the latter, Viola, completing the save.

Today, pitcher Tanner Peters is making the start. It's his first start coming off of his near perfect game at home last Friday, the 9th. Tanner faces off with Lake Elsinore's star pitcher, James Needy(8-4, 3.66).

Hopefully, with this set of wins and with a possible sweep there in Lake Elsinore, they can bring some of that to Visalia and then back home to Banner Island. I would love to see these boys post-season!

CORRECTION: Raul Alcantara (4-3, 3.71ERA) will be pitching tonight.
