The Dodgers have lost one of their true blue fans yesterday, Joshua Jones.

In one of the most heartwarming scenes that have ever happened in baseball, Mr. Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers, notices a lone Dodger fan among the sea of orange and black at AT&T Park. After taking a loss in the game, Mr. Kemp strolls over, greets his shocked fan and after, not only signing a ball for the Tracy, CA native Dodger fan, but then proceeds to do the most honorable thing a player can do.

Soccer players often do this as a show of respect to their opposing team. After removing his cap and handing it to Mr. Jones, he proceeds to pull off his jersey and even remove his cleats to give to him. An ultimate show of respect, Kemp proceeded back to the visitors dugout in stocking feet.

Joshua Jones was battling a terminal form of brain cancer. His friend's and family had pulled their money to get him to the game that day. Joshua's father had gone over to Matt and asked him to say hello to his son. Mr. Jones has said this of Matt Kemp, "You don't find a lot of ballplayers who will do something like that for you. I asked him to come over and say hello to my son and he's done a lot more than that."

Joshua Jones may or may not have realized what part of baseball history he has effected but, of the now 3.1 million views on YouTube, both him and his friend, Matt Kemp has shown what being a Dodger and a baseball fan is.

Mr. Joshua Jones died yesterday, August 8, 2013. He was 19 years old.
