Stockton Ports' Bullpen Takes a Beating

I hope this isn't a trend. I don't think it will be since I heard today that we should be getting new blood in our bullpen, Ryan Doolittle. Name sound familiar? It should. His big brother is Sean Doolittle, also of the Oakland A's organization. Hopefully little bro can give the Ports some much needed support in the pen.

Last night's game was a tragedy on several fronts. First of all, I shouldn't have say outside of Section 117. Second, the Ports bats were live through the first half of the game with Raul Alcantara on the mound. Come the 7th inning, the Giants bats awoke and there was no stopping the bleeding. The Ports went through Omar Duran, Jonathan Joseph and T.J. Walz, after Alcantara, with Walz taking the loss.

Tonight should see some action or, better yet, no action, with Oakland A's vet, Brett Anderson rehabbing with the Ports tonight. If Anderson can keep San Jose quiet for a few innings and Stockton's bats can get hot early on, we can prevent the sweep.

FYI: Ryan Doolittle will not be coming out of the bullpen. Instead he will be making the start for Stockton on Saturday in place of Shaeffer Hall.
